KNITTING WORKSHOPS

Help make the knitted garden grow…

The community of Poole has been invited to create a unique piece to add to the garden that will go on tour around the UK. We are going to make a life size greenhouse from white and green squares and knit contents for the greenhouse including tomatoes, runner beans, insects and plant pots. We are also looking for keen knitters who might want to make a wheelbarrow or lawn mower.

Three knitting workshop have been set up for this and will be held in Lighthouse’s cafĂ©/gallery

Tuesday 13 September 11 - 4

Tuesday 20 September 11- 4

Tuesday 4 October 11-4 - a final one to assemble the greenhouse

These workshops are free, drop in and will be hosted by the organiser of the knitted garden, artist Pauline Stanley who will help the design and creation of the greenhouse. Wool, knitting needles and patterns are provided for making the greenhouse and contents. Or just come along with your own knitting/crochet and just have a coffee and chat with us. Meet in the cafe.

We aim that these Tuesday session will become an autonomous regular social self help knitting group in Poole where people can come and knit, crochet, weave and spin their own work.

It will be called Purlesque.

A regular time for this will be discussed with knitters.
